Nanotube based batteries
Pretty damned cool, as of now, not usable in the amount of energy stored. But hey, in a decade or so batteries may be insertable cards instead of the classic cylinder shape.

I wathed this whole thing on the discovery channel "the future " or something. Apparently, we have the capability of "printing" human organs and the like.
Heart cells will grow and reproduce by themselves and can actually grow into a working heart. (valve cells will grow into a heart valve and soforth) Some fucker actually tried to "print" the heart cells layer by layer with pretty much a very lightly modified ink-jet and was able to print/grow a section of a heart.
The shit was interesting as hell. There was one hurdle to "printing" organs and such that we couldn't get past. However the show seemed like we are very close to having the technology to do so in the next 5-10 years.

Yeah, it was on 2057, the special series about where technology will probably be at in 50 years. Loved that series, though the "little story" they used in the one with the computer virus was just horribly gay.

Yeah that's quite impressive stuff. The guy who invented carbon nano structures teaches Chemistry at my school, which is pretty cool.
Although all these "technology in 50 years" shows make me laugh, since the world is pretty much heading into a concrete wall as far as the environment is concerned, and no one seems to care about it. This may very well happen within 50 years, and if that's the case, we will not be seing this kind of technology I'm afraid.
