I've used that CM case that scroll linked above and it's about the most solid one you'll find for 80 bucks.


...f*ck that budget board and go with something nasty like this.

Or save yourself the hassle and manually set the fan speed, cheaper and does the same thing with very little fan noise increase.


Not exactly, my 4850 is a b*tch, it'll go up to 85-100 degrees with the fanspeed at 100% when playing crysis, WiC, occasionally tf2, etc. (usually the newer games) and I would get an error that closes my game from ati.

So what would you suggest, aftermarket cooling?

For the 4850, no, sounds to me like you have a sh*t tastic case if you are running the fan speed at 100%. Which I highly doubt you tried that............ but I won't go into the liar liar pants on fire game so we will leave it at that.



You will be more than sufficient setting the fanspeed to 55-60. That's the sweet spot I have found balance between good cooling and tolerable noise.
