I won't even go off on Steam.. the fix is

mat_specular 0

i was curious what object it got shiny. so i went thru every map. looks like windows, walls, floors, siding on doors, shudders, and the knife. so take a look since a lot of you guys are too busy playing wow...some maps didnt change at all. like inferno, train, tides, the dusts maps, cbble..yeah they didnt change

i think its nice. i mean its kinda bad where materials end and a new one starts but sitll i think its a nice lil update

like on a floor. floors are like grids. you can see where areas end and start with the shiny areas repeating. its very visible from far away. it looks pink at the end of a hall till you get closer.

i didnt notice cause im still playing on a gforce 5200 :tdown: BUT HOPEFULLY later on today MY 800XL will be back..and i can see maps and people again :21: its been tough..

I like the Shiney!



I personally thought it was ugly as hell.. Why do walls need to be shiny? Like in the garage it was horrible looking.. If they are trying to attempt HDL.. it wasn't successful.. In either case that mat_specular 0 fixes it..

I wish they would devote more time to making the game better.. fixing glitches.. hit boxes.. etc than wasting it on all this eye candy that just strains your GPU even more.

i dont know.. i like the shiny.. and it doesnt do that thing on my comp that it does on dereks :wtf: oh and my fps remained the same with the shiny walls.. its still 2 :20: :20:





no but really i still get the same fps..

i like what steam is doing. i mean they just made source 64 bit thats cool as hell. i cant wait till i upgrade to vista...

The command was there before you guys maybe put custom configs in your consoles which go to ur Config.cfg which goes back to its default every update and you didn't mention that I gave you the command? :(

Yes. The walls are quiet shiny. A few weeks ago, I turned the graphics up and noticed the shine. Regardless, the walls are frickin cool and I sometimes get distracted by there glimmer :weee: . I hope they improve the character designs and maybe some more objects to destroy.
