if you are going to get a xbox 360, get the intercooler, because the xbox 360's main reason for dieing out is because of over heating, mine died out the first 3 months or so, and my friend just bought one yesterday a madder in fact, and the first thing i told him to but was the intercooler, because it has 3 pritty nice fans in it and it just sucks all the hot air out of it, take my idvice, because i wish i knew this befor i got my xbox 360 !!!!!

DEFINITELY!!! I am on my second 360 right now, had the ring of light error on my first one. The intercooler is a MUST HAVE for ANY 360 owner. It only costs $20, I think, and keeps the 360 so much cooler. The intercooler itself is kind of warm, but the 360 isn't getting nearly as hot anymore.

If they weren't so unreliable I'd just pop the top and re-do the cooling properly... Unfortunately, that fix for the problem voids warrenties... Mine's doing fine 'cause it's out in the open with an oscillating fan blowing on it occasionally. Played for ~9 hours one day without a problem (straight, stopping to make food to eat while playing)

I know my intercooler didn't cost $50-$60. Is there more than one company that makes an intercooler? Mine is made by Nyko, and was $20. Got it from Gamestop, and the link on Gamestop's site for it is right here:
