OK. I'll keep that in mind. I was thinking about throwing a Linux partition on my desktop, just to go in and dick around. I love the fact that you can pretty much customize everything.Mint Debian Edition is very polished / user friendly.

I'm gonna go on a little bit of a rant here just for the hell of it.
customization isn't an issue with ANY distro, it's about software packages being shipped by their repos. Debian / Debian testing / Ubuntu and most repos don't ship the latest packages for the sake of stability, but the developers of the software themselves do testing, so its testing ontop of more fucking testing and a 3+ month delay before you actually see the improvements.
example 1) the Linux 2.6.37 kernel got a lot of performance improvements in their development cycle, even more so in 2.6.38 (so much so that it makes for a night and day difference when using your system). Debian Squeeze (6.0) uses 2.6.32, same with Debian testing (if you want current you need to use Debian Sid (unstable / experimental).
the same type of stuff applies to almost all distros but there are exceptions. Archlinux is pretty good and the majority of their packages are upto date but their mirror system is broken sometimes, ignoring that and unsigned packages it's a pretty nice distro for desktop use.
tl;dr version. Go with Archlinux as they have the best documentation and a pretty good community or if you go the Debian route Mint Debian Edtion.

So had sometime been really busy well here is something very hot, new desk setup with two 24inch HD monitors, left side running win7 64 pro and VM's and on the right is my macbookpro (got it for free bitches!) running 10.6 :)
Desk Ikea Galant black glass, with a basic 3 tier wire shelf holding 750UPS battery backup, laserjet printer, and my desktop dell studio q6600 6gb mem looking for a new graphics card is pretty much all I need and maybe some more memory.
Let me know what you think or if you have any questions just ask.

Unless you need a seat that is the equivalent to a 34 inch screen, in which you have to be the fattest mofo out there, or your monitor is really a 20 inch.
