I thought it was only statutory(sp?) rape if you are 18 or older and have sexual relations with a minor the legal consent age. At 16 you should be fine or am I wrong?

Age of consent only applies when one person is over 18. For two people under 18, it's fine. Could they find a loophole if she decides it wasn't worth it? You bet.

from the cases i have seen, technically the law states that a minor (defined by age in that state) can not consent to sex, but it is always in corolation with an adult. now in most states (i don't know of any that don't) there is a 3 year law, and she does fall into that 3 year law, and being as how you are not technically an adult (under 18) but can consent to sex (16 or older) than really it would be hard for any serious punishment to occur, now depending on the state (such as cal.) they have loose guidelines that allow judges to make choices based on previous records and intervene. so with that said if you haev any juvi records than uhh yea walk away. but if not on a legal aspect you would get a slap on the wrist (like a sex counseling bullsh*t thing). oh wait i almost forgot Washington state has a law against having sex with a virgin... even on her/his wedding night. sooo if you live there than tough sh*t. now that thats said, regardless of law or not, this chick ....sounds like a psycho, and when u bang a psycho......well they do psycho things, so for personal advice, go find someone thats not so f*cking crazy. good luck kid.

age of consent laws cover consensual "peer" sex of teenagers. ie, if he's 16 and she's anything under 16, it's illegal. it's the main reason most states haven't raised the age of consent to 18 and some have a distance between clause.
